Disrespect with the TOC

I was not here to witness the class's behavior with the TOC.

On a day to day basis, I see students in this class being disrespectful to one another. Some guys in this class are rude and very annoying. I feel like they should find other ways to goof off either than being disrespectful.  I completely understand why this class could be difficult for a TOC to handle. When we had the girl TOC after you had your baby I could see her frustration trying to deal with the guys. They simply don't show her respect. She couldn't get them to stop talking to listen to her instructions for 5 minutes. Some people's behavior is unacceptable in my eyes so I remove myself from the situation. ( I'm sure that's why most of the girls don't choose hang out with the guys ) I like to ignore the guys that don't act as mature as they should but when a TOC is here they should be on their best behavior. I feel like I could take a stand and help the TOC get the guy's attention and help with the attendance when they are not paying attention but either than that I can't control their actions. I feel like the girls act very different than the guys do by giving their attention and cooperating.

Report Card

1) I have been successful at always bringing the appropriate strip for class. I always try my best to come on time however due to this new block system I have been late a few times. My other teachers leave after 4th period and because of my ailments I miss their classes. Missed classes results in missed lessons which I require help for. I try my best to minimize my absenses, but because of my sicknesss its really hard to attend school when I do not feel well and have appointments.
2) My average exertion level depends on the activity of the day. For example when our class chooses to play baseball, I am not at max exertion. However when we have our fitness days, I am at max exertion. I put my best effort into the activity I pick for the day everyday, some sports just dont require as much effort as others. When I play volleyball I am most likely not as tired as I am when I play basketball.
3&4)  I always try to contribute to the positive atmosphere of our PE class. I come with a smile, giggles and I constantly try to encourage my classmates to push themselves. ( High Fives rock!!)  I try to follow positive role models when it comes to picking which activity you wish to partake in for the day. For example when we had our lovely substitute I followed a few of the really fit kids in our class and participated in the circuits instead of taking it easy in the weight room where the was no supervision.
5) I have set many personal goals for this PE class. I hope to make it to 7 laps for the 25 minute run which is a challenge because of the shoulder pain I get when I run. I'd really like to increase my cardio levels and to achieve that I will run till I reach my max for the beep tests, pond run and 25 minute run. I would also like to increase my abdominal strength and to do so I plan on doing ab workouts in the weight room.
6) I'm still trying to fully understand my body's limits. This is hard for me because when I work my body, I do not feel the strain I am putting on my muscles until the next day. I have learned that my shoulder pain increases when I'm running which is new to me. I have also learned that even though im in pain, lightly working out (walking/lightjog/stretching/lightweights) helps decrease my pain level.
7) I feel like an accurate percentage for me to recieve in PE would be in the 70s. I feel like 78% would be a good grade for my time in PE this year because of my absenses. I wish I could attend class more because I know I could recieve a  much higher mark for this course.
8) I know I need to improve my attendence or figure out a way to make up for my missed classes such as a fittness journal or proof of exercise out side of class.

I came into this PE class with a skeptical mind - "How will I do in PE when I cannot participate to my desired ability?". I have learned it's not about your fitness level, it's about how hard you try. You must live up to your own personal best.  I attend class with a positive attitude and a smile on my face to really create a good atmosphere for my peers.  I show my peers respect by encouraging them and simply being nice. I know my attendance could use some improvement but I do attend class as much as possible considering my appointments and illness. I am always prepared for PE with proper etire. I enjoy the sports and activities I participate in this class. However I struggle when it comes to fittness, such as the extended beep test. It's very frustrating when my body cannot do what I would like it to do. I was not physicaly drained after the second beep test but my shoulders simply hurt too much to continue on. I really hope my body can allow me to reach that point of absolute exertion. I am still struggling to really understanding my body's limitations. I constantly stive to be the best I can be in this class and enjoy doing so. I am ready to begin improving from here on out.

Playing baseball with our fun and vibrant class is always a blast. I played back catcher for the first time and really enjoyed it. I have difficulties batting so I hope to improve my skill. Baseball is a fun sport and I hope we can play it more.
For the 25 minute run on wednesday I was injured so I walked 4 laps. I have to set realistic goals due to my ailments. The next run I feel I should be able to complete 6 laps at a light jogging pace.

The Grouse Grind was utterly exhausting. I have never pushed my body through such a work out. With all the Sullivan spirit I have completed my goal! I had to stop to catch my breath more than once and I hope to complete the Grouse Grind in the future with better results.
